A beloved property of our client, a family running a farm business, seeking a base camp to host a long-weekend gathering for their relatives. The location was near a sloping meadow of ferns, and we figured that in the rainy season the soil could turn in to clay easily so we cladded interior walls, built a sturdy deck and an outhouse on a quarter-acre of raw land, and hanged shingles to do the trick and to add the touch of our clients' taste. The result was a cozy, functional space that felt like a natural extension of the landscape.
